The last of my marinaded wings for the book, so my waiting time when it comes to cooking is going to be less. This can mean only one thing, more recipes per night :-)

In fact I’m going to try and cook 20 recipes in two days this week…

Dip Style Wings

This was a very interesting wing event.
I had four recipes 3 of which are all cooked the same way but then you cover the wings in a flavour.
Two of the flouvars were pretty much exactly the same except for the Horseraddish coming through in the one.
The Avocado recipe was to die for, I know it sounds strange mixing wings with this green jewel but trust me it works.

Down-Home Wings

My second recipe since “time-off-cooking-wings”, and I say these are not for the faint hearted.
They pack a serious mustard punch…

Honey, I must grill wings

Having not cooked wings in over a month, I realised I had better get into gear and get back to winging it. I’ve still been eating wings at least once a week, but just haven’t made the time to cook.
I really liked this batch of wings and here is why:

Wang Tango Wings

Great recipe, I’ve mentioned I’ve started becoming a fan of recipes that have a good Ketchup balance and this one had just that

Ingredients:

veg oil
wings
garlic
onion
honey
sugar
ketchup
Worcestershire sauce
tomato paste
chili
black raisins
ground allspice
onion powder

Step 1: Heat your oven to 190C
Step 2: heat the oil onions and garlic in a medium pan
Step 3: add the remaining ingredients and reduce for about 3-5 minutes
Step 4: transfer sauce to a blender and puree until smooth
Step 5: Cover the wings in your puree and cool in the over until ready (app. 30-40 minutes)

Cricket Final Wings

After a long and great cricket season my cricket team Bones Bolters win the league at last :-)

For celebrations we did what any group of blokes would do and that was to eat great food with some cold beer.

Wings Fra “Diablo”

Interesting recipe and great idea I just felt there was too much tomato in this one, I’m probably going to try it again as I think it has amazing potential.

Ingredients:

Olive Oil
veg oil
wings
garlic
red wine
lemon juice
Fresh Basil
dried oregano
chilli
tomato puree
sugar

Step 1: In a Large skillet over a medium heat brown the wings for 10-12min
Step 2: Add the garlic, and brown further for 2mins
Step 3: Then add Wine, juice and cook for 1min
Step 4: Finally add all the remaining ingredients and cook until reduced for 10mins
Step 5: Serve on a platter

Wings Tandoori

Tandoori is one of my favourite Indian styled foods. I must admit I don’t have a Tandoor (oven used for making tandoori).
That said this dish turned out very well, but definitely felt like it was missing that magical ingredient. I hope to one day fully recreate some Tandoori Chicken the way it should be …

Ingredients:

yogurt
garlic
Fresh Coriander
fresh mint
turmeric
saffron
salt
paprika
sugar
cayenne pepper
Ground Coriander
red onion
lime juice
wings

Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients (except the wings)
Step 2: Marinade the wings for 5 hours

Step 3: Cook the wings in a pre-heated oven(190C) for 25-30min

Ancho Fire Wings

I always enjoy cooking with new ingredients especially when it comes to chilli’s.
You can find out more about Ancho Chilli’s and it’s history here.

The chile is definitely not as hot as other chiles, however it does pack a deep flavour and aroma, which makes me understand why it’s such a popular Mexican Chilli.

tequila

Step 1: In a food processor, puree all the ingredients (except the wings)
